How it works
Every step happens on your device, ensuring maximum privacy.

1) Fetch encrypted metadata
The viewer downloads share metadata and encrypted chunks. It can’t decrypt without the key/password.

2) Derive the share key
If the share has a password, we derive a key with Argon2id locally.

3) Unwrap the file key (DEK)
The share key unwraps the Data Encryption Key using authenticated encryption.

4) Decrypt on-device
Chunks are fetched and decrypted in parallel, then assembled for preview/download.
